Maks Samec Awards and Recognitions

Maks Samec, a PhD from Kamnik who organized the study of chemistry at the founding of the University of Ljubljana, was appointed in 1919 as the first full professor of the field at the Faculty of Technology in Ljubljana. He later became dean and, from 1935 to 1937, also served as rector of the University of Ljubljana. His support played a major role in establishing the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana, which he led until his retirement.

The Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology at the University of Ljubljana annually awards the Maks Samec Prizes and Recognitions for outstanding doctoral dissertations and contributions to the faculty’s reputation. For this important and prestigious occasion, we designed the visual identity of the awards and the event.
